Something Ideal

In last week's lectures we started to look at game development pipelines, job specifications, and the hard and soft skills needed to get into the industry. From these talks we've been asked to find a job specification, our own ideal job to aim for. See where we're at and what we'd have to do to achieve this job. And I've I found from this is picking a job to focus on, as right now I have no idea what I'm aiming for. That's not to say I don't have a goal, I do want to get a job within the games art industry, but as what? Being a  concept artist would be great, or a 3D modeller, animator, working with environments, characters, levels, assets... There's so much to go for and I've only just started. If I was asked this a year ago I would have said the same, and the year before that, though the net would be spread a little wider (do I want to be an illustrator, graphic designer,ow about both? How about game design..) and I expect that I'll narrow my choice down like I did back then in due time. But right now I've learnt a lot of new things and still have a tonne more to learn, so I guess in term of where I'm at, I'm not in a position to have a specific ideal job to aim for. So for the time being I'm going to leave it up in the air, and come back to this in a little while. So, to be continued...
